Said to date from the Bronze Age, this stone circle on Birkrigg Common affords wonderful views across Morecambe Bay and the Leven Estuary.  The spire of the church of Holy Trinity in Bardsea village provides a marker for Chapel Island located in the Leven Estuary.  The land on the other side of the estuary is the Cartmel peninsula.
